Summit Learning Trust Army Cadet Force Detachment (Rifles)

Army Cadet Force Detachment (Rifles)

Army Cadet Force Detachment (Rifles) Army Cadet Unit

Warwickshire and West Midlands (SS) ACF

The Army Cadet Force (ACF) is a unique educational partnership that operates in schools across the UK.

“Becoming an Army Cadet has heaps of benefits. The most obvious being that you get to take part in loads of exciting and challenging activities such as fieldcraft, adventure training, first aid, music, sports and shooting, to name but a few.”  Quote taken from the Army Cadets website

Training opportunities for cadets occur during weekly parades after school, whole day and weekend training periods (field days), at annual military camps, on courses run by the Armed Forces specifically for cadets and through adventurous training expeditions The Army Cadet Syllabus  teaches you leadership skills, discipline and gives you self-confidence you never thought possible. You will learn a wide range of transferable skills such as: the ability to command tasks; make decisions under pressure; plan and organise tasks and work as an effective team player as well as independently. These skills will equip you for life and add an extra string to your bow at times when competition for college places and employment is fierce.

Through enjoyable military themed and adventurous activities, cadets have the opportunity to take responsibility, develop skills such as leadership, self-reliance, resourcefulness, endurance and perseverance. ACF contingents promote the aims and values of the Army.

Through your cadet training you can also gain valuable qualifications such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, BTEC First Diploma in Public Services or Music or the ILM Certificate in Team Leading.
