Our Year 9 learners from Cockshut Hill have had a very informative and insightful day at BCU SteamHouse today. Learners had many opportunities to learn from employees from the Construction industry and how the landscape of Birmingham is continually changing and being transformed into a city for the future. Buildings and places that will create better communities and enrich lives within them. Our learners were able to share their ideas and opinions and to be the voice for the next generation. There was a good representation of different career roles throughout the event where our young people got to understand an array of roles that are needed for such a big project. Including the importance of sustainability and how it impacts the decisions of housing regeneration happening in all quarters of the city. Learners were able to test their modelling skills and were set a challenge to build a structure they would like to see within the housing project.
