Hands-On Concert Inspires Learners to Step Into the Spotlight
A group of 44 learners from Cockshut Hill School, part of the Summit Learning Trust, who achieved the highest music grades this term, along with Year 10 music learners, have been treated to an unforgettable live music experience.
An in-school concert featured a dynamic three-piece band who not only performed famous songs but also shared insights into their instruments and life as performing musicians.
The interactive session gave learners the rare opportunity to join the band on stage. A special shoutout goes to Refal, who, despite never having held a guitar before, bravely volunteered to perform, and impressed everyone with his confidence and enthusiasm.
The concert was a celebration of musical excellence and an inspiring opportunity for learners to engage with music beyond the classroom. The event was supported by CHS colleagues who encouraged learner participation.
Jason Bridges, Principal at Cockshut Hill said:
“We’re incredibly proud of our learners, not only for their academic achievements in music but for their willingness to step out of their comfort zones. Events like this help bring learning to life and show our learners what’s possible when they follow their passions.”
