A group of Year 9 and Year 10 took the journey to the Jurassic Coast to participate in an action and knowledge filled Geography weekend. Arriving to PGL Osmington was to be met with spectacular views of the coast and straight into the first activity which was the Jacob’s Ladder followed by tag archery. This was the start of the weekend of laughs, encourage, building resilience and self-belief as each learner took on every challenge despite some personal fears. The success- overcoming them and reaching new heights! Alongside this, we took a few trips to Lyme Regis, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, where we discussed the landscape and how the coast is constantly being shaped, tying in nicely to the GCSE unit of study on Distinctive Landscapes. Back at base, the adventures continued with Vertical Challenges, rifles, abseiling, aero ball and many more. Not forgetting the trips to the site’s own private beach. New friendships created, teamwork and combination skilled enhanced. The staff commended our learners for their manners. Overall a fantastic weekend full of cultural capital. Thank you to the staff who gave weekend to support this trip! Hopefully, team Geography can organise another trip to Osmington for May 2025!
