Article 32: Child Labour
What does it mean?
Governments must protect children from work that is dangerous or might harm their health or education.
Why is it Article of the Month?
June 12th is World Day against Child Labour. At this very moment around 168 million children are involved in child labour in the world. Conflicts and disasters have a devastating impact on people’s lives. They kill, maim, injure, force people to flee their homes, destroy livelihoods, push people into poverty and starvation and trap people in situations where their basic human rights are violated. This can lead to an increase in the amount of children trapped and exploited; forced to work.
